News from RC Group – microchannel condensers for PYXIS Series Chillers

Air conditioning equipment is constantly improving to meet customers` needs. There appear more and more solutions able to satisfy even the most challenging requirements. Among the most rapidly growing fields, you can single out:

Italian RC Group is specialized in production and sales of conditioning equipment, and constantly introduces new developments that meet standards of each field mentioned above.  The company has been working in the field of climate systems development for more than 50 years, regularly updating its model range and offering customers new and fresh solutions.  

PYXIS series is one of the latest developments of RC Group, introduced this year. This lineup falls into the category of air cooled chillers equipped with axial fans. 

RC Group that is famous for its individual attention to clients and their needs, produces models with different output. The PYXUS U series offers devices of relatively low capacity 44,9-200kW. These are the best options for cost-effective cooling for different rooms (offices, showrooms, business centers).

The PYXIS series is designed for higher power up to 800 kW. This device is enough for optimal climate control inside the entire building.  The PYXIS CLA operates at the same power range (108-876kW) but has an additional advantage – high-performance energy efficiency class – class A. According to the Eurovent standarts only devices with EER index, exceeding 1.3,  get such marking. 

Microchannel condensers are the most important technical features of PYXYS chillers. Such condenser type reduces Freon use up to 25%, bringing down final cost of cooling. 
These are not all advantages of microchannel condensers:

• Microchannel condensers are ideal for operating with ozone-safe eco-friendly refrigerant R410, which is widely used in new generation climate-control systems designing. 

• The all-aluminum body of the condenser sufficiently increases life of the chiller, preventing corrosion. Absence of solder joint between copper and aluminum parts of the condenser also promotes total energy performance boost. 

• Additional anticorrosive surface treatment with special acrylic paint TK Pro is available at customer`s option. Such protection improves engine drag against salt fog influence, while its heat exchange capacity remains high.

• 50% coil weight reduction, compared to the devices made of copper, reduces air resistance inside the machine so as power consumption of the fans.  

• It is also recommended to use microchannel coils as they require very little technical maintenance and offer simplified cleaning process. Therefore, microchannel technology in compressors allows reducing the future equipment exploitation costs.  

However, upgraded coil construction is not the only advantage of PYXIS series chillers. The devices also include finger-tip microprocessor-based control. The most part of RC cooling machines operate on MP.COM system, which given system is reliable and easy to operate. It includes password protected menu for adjustment of the chiller for optimal operation; timer and flash-memory to maintain the given operating conditions during a long period of time. The system also supports an anti-emergency monitoring option.
